Recently, I had the privilege of attending a transformative workshop led by Morgan Chawaga, AIA President, better known as The Healthy Architect Tri-State Fusion Conference in Hershey, PA. Morgan’s innovative approach to combating stress, preventing burnout, and setting boundaries in the architecture industry left a lasting impression on me - and I believe it could for you too.  The session was more than just a conversation; it was a call to action. Morgan shared empowering strategies to cultivate a mindful mindset, and her insights were nothing short of eye-opening. Your Title Before Licensure

The Short Answer
In Delaware, the architecture law allows individuals currently employed under the responsible control of a Licensed Architect who also maintains a NCARB record in good standing to use the title  "ARCHITECTURAL INTERN" or "INTERN ARCHITECT" in conjunction with the person's current employment. 

Certain titles are allowed by the state of Delaware, but "Architectural Associate" is NOT one of them.

  • ​Jason Pettigrew Memorial ARE Scholarship (applications open Late Spring) 
    This scholarship covers the full cost of the Architect Registration Exam and provides study materials for emerging professionals working toward their architecture license.

  • Student Loan Relief Grant
    (applications open Late Spring)
    This grant covers loan payments for emerging architects with student debt.​

EP Grant to AIA25

Make a lasting impact on your career with the AIA25 Emerging Professionals Grant! It's your opportunity to become an official AIA25 ambassador for emerging professionals and add to you resume in a meaningful way - while taking advantage of everything this conference offers for early career professionals.

AIA and the Architects Foundation founded the AIA25 Emerging Professionals Grant to provide more opportunities to emerging and early career professionals who are passionate about change in the architecture profession and bring new perspectives to business, workplace health, technology, and climate action.

Selected grant winners will receive one complimentary Full Pass to AIA25 worth $699, plus other benefits.
