THE CONVENTION PROGRAM
The daytime program will feature several one-hour seminars ; walking tours aimed at exposing participants to new products, technologies and successful design solutions; and an Exhibit Hall with more than 60 presenters. The evening will feature a banquet showcasing examples of excellent design projects submitted in the 2005 AIA DE Design Awards Program by architects, interior designers and landscape architects. Renowned as a champion of sustainable urban planning and design, Harris led Honolulu to more than 100 national and local awards since 1966 for significant accomplishments in urban design, management and efforts to preserve the quality-of-life. He encourages architects and their colleagues to get involved in Green Building and develop plans for sustainability alternatives for professional, societal and economic reasons. Harris received the AIA President’s Citation in 1997 and was named an Honorary Affiliate Member of the Honolulu chapter of AIA in 2001.
