2010 DESIGN AWARD BALL IS RESCHEDULED TO
THURSDAY, MARCH 11th, 2010

Due to the National Weather Service Winter Storm Watch advising of the pending threat of snow in Wilmington over the next couple of days, the AIA DEsign Ball has been rescheduled to Thursday, March 11th.

We will rock the newly renovated Lincoln Square building at 306 N. Market Street, Wilmington from 6:00-11:00pm!

Tickets
Tickets are required and limited, so if you haven’t purchased yours yet, reserve them now – there are only a few remaining for this fabulous event. Submit your reservation form to Nancy Payne at director@aiadelaware.org or via fax to (302) 654-7687 today.

Parking
EDiS Company and Colonial Parking have graciously provided parking vouchers for the Ships Tavern Parking Garage with entrances on King Street and 2nd Street that will be available at the door during check in at the event until they’re gone. Make the most of your commute and carpool.

Business Casual Attire
We’ve taken a fair number of calls concerning attire for the event, which is business casual. So for women this might include dresses; slacks or skirts with sweaters or collared shirts; and your favorite, fun accessories. For men, leave your tuxedo at home and arrive in slacks, long-sleeved button-down shirt or sweater, leather shoes and belt - the jacket and tie are up to you!

See you at the AIA DEsign Ball on Thursday, March 11th!

2010 AIA DEsign Awards Call for Entries!

AIA Delaware invites your participation in the 2010 Design Awards program. Our mission is to recognize significant achievements in planning, design, and execution of architectural projects as created by the members of The American Institute of Architects, Delaware Chapter.

Eligible projects may be submitted for awards consideration in either the Built or Unbuilt categories. Design Awards entries will be judged individually and not in competition with each other. Thus, projects of ordinary program or modest budget can merit an award based on the architect’s skill in optimizing the design opportunity. Refer to the following documents for additional information.

Award winners will be announced during AIA Delaware’s 2010 DEsign Ball celebration which will rock the newly renovated Lincoln Square building at 306 N. Market Street in downtown Wilmington, Delaware. Awards will be presented to the project architect, owner, and contractor for each winning submission.

Important Dates:
Entry Forms Due December 15, 2009
Binder Submissions Due January 12, 2010
2010 AIA DEsign Ball February 25, 2010
